Disterigma (Ericaceae: Vaccinieae). Flora Neotropica (108)

Disterigma (Ericaceae: Vaccinieae). Flora Neotropica (108)

Disterigma (Ericaceae) is a neotropical blueberry genus that grows in Central and South America. Recent comprehensive phylogenetic analyses incorporating both morphological and molecular data allowed the identification of a Disterigma clade, where the type species of the genus is found. The Disterigma clade is the subject of this monograph and 32 species are here recognized within it. Disterigma can be distinguised from other Vaccinieae by the presence of a pair of bracteoles inserted right at the apex of the pedicel.
